Dharma - Teachings

Dharma are the teachings of Buddha and the teachings of many of his great disciples. The sayings and teachings of Buddha and the other great masters that followed him are countless as the trees in a forest.

Buddhists select a portion from these countless teachings and according to the karmic relation, use these methods skillfully in order to become Buddha and in turn, help others to become Buddha as well.

The teachings of the Venerable Master Chung Hwa are based on the foundation of the "Right View". To understand what the Right View is, consider:

The universe is one life (one body) and one Buddha. All beings are a partial appearance of one Buddha. The appearance of this one Buddha may differ based on each person's perspective: it may look like: voidness; fullness; countless cycles of birth and death.

One must liberate the "I" from the "accumulated ego" and then one cannot help but to love all beings in the entire universe as one body. Ultimately, one should live a life that is based on a liberated mind (free mind) and actions based on love and compassion.

The reason that one cannot live Bodhisattva's path with a great love and great compassion is because of egotistic habits accumulated in past lives. Hence, in order to live a pure Botisatvaha's Way, one must practice the following teachings:

  1. Meditate about the "Right View" repeatedly and deeply.
  2. Cultivate "the ocean seal samadhi" to eliminate the minute defilements deeply seeded within us.
  3. Maintain the three types of karmas (right thinking, right speech, and right conduct).

Based on the master Chung Hwa's teachings, there are many skillful methods (programs) for the benefit of Buddhist living. We wish that all interested people may knock on the door of the Sambosa meditation house...

The Venerable Master Chung Hwa Keun Seunim emphasizes the following motto in cultivating our minds:

  1. The Middle Way as the True Reality
  2. True Thusness Which is the Buddha Nature
  3. Liberation through wisdom
  4. Liberation through meditation
  5. All phenomenal changes are impermanent
  6. All constituent elements are without self

The following is the expedient method of realizing and experinecing the TRUTH, which was obtained during a deep samadhi meditation by the Master Keum Ta from Yong Soo BOSAL (Nagarjuna, 14th patriarch of the Indian lineage and also known as the second Buddha). Master Chung Hwa transcribed this valuable peice of treasure and it is his sincere wish to share this expedient method of enligtnement to all those who wish to learn and practice this method of MIND cultivation. At the risk of the in-adequate translation and possible mis-intepretation of the true meaning from the original text, it is being shared here in the hope that it will help people to attain self-realization and complete awakening.

May we all obtain enlightenment if not in this life then perhaps in the next life and thereafter... Bodhi Meditation
